| The
opening act, "The Man Machine", first had the band's shadows projected
on the curtains for a while before they opened, which was a cool effect. |
| "Expo
2000" was similar to the Underground Resistance mix, which I think
is what they've usually played in concerts lately. |
| "Tour
de France 2003" started in a similar fashion to the "Long Distance
Version 2" on the maxi-single. The graphics was bars moving to the sounds
(don't know the right term for it). They changed between blue, white and
red. Then the song turned into "Chrono" from the album and depicted cyclists
going up and down mountain stages. Finally, it changed into something similar
to the official video, with the video projected behind the band. Ralph sings
the lyrics live (with vocoder effects) except for the "Radio Tour, Information...". |
| Vitamin's
graphics started off with two-colored CGI vitamin capsuled falling down.
Then there was an effervescent tablet falling into a glass of water and
dissolving. It continued with more types of mixed vitamin pill graphics
falling down and also towards the viewer. There was also a shot of four
glasses in a row like the one before, a big tablet with the word "Vitamin"
embossed on it and finally the text "vitamin" dissolving itself. Pretty
cool graphics I must say. |
| "Tour
de France", which was next, first showed the sleeve of the album. Interestingly,
it was the original sleeve with Karl and Wolfgang on it. So they've not
been entirely retouched from Kraftwerk's history. Ralf had a big feedback
when singing the first line of the song and stopped singing. He looked seriously
worried for a while and didn't dare to sing the rest as loudly, although
they fixed the problem. |
| Like
in the first show (Finland), they turned on their LEDs when the curtains
opened for "Numbers". They also weren't present when the song started, but
entered the stage shortly after the curtains had opened to show four empty
tables. "The Robots" was a big highlight, with the robots on stage moving
about. It sounded better than ever. |
| Finally,
for the last act the band had changed to the wireframs suits and performed
a version of "Elektro Kardiogramm" that sounded like the radio mix, but
was much longer. The graphics is a green elektro-kardiogram style wave on
a wireframe background, moving according to the sound. |
| "Aero
Dynamik" was interesting, as it was a totally different version to
that of the album and the MTV performance. It started with ambient sounds
and had a more athmospheric, "calm" touch. Can this be one of the mixes
for the upcoming singles? The graphics also weren't exactly like the one
at MTV, but generally in the same style. |
| And
that was it! The show closed with the band members leaving one by one in
the normal fashion. Ralf said "see you tomorrow" before he left the stage
and let the machines play for themselves. |
